2022 Championship Information

Registration

Eligibility

All contestants must have qualified through a PGA Section Championship or have been granted an exemption into the field. All contestants are subject to the eligibility requirements:

* Player must be eighteen (18) years of age or younger on the final day of the Championship (August 5, 2022). Players must be amateurs as defined by the USGA and my not be full-time college students.

 

 Invitation Criteria

Entry Deadline

Wednesday, June 1, 2022:

For Players that received an exemption on or before May 4, 2022

Wednesday, June 29, 2022:

For Players that received an exemption on or before June 1, 2022

Wednesday, July 20, 2022:

For Players that received an exemption after June 1, 2022

* The Champion of US Junior Am & US Girls Junior will have 2 days to accept their exemption.

Entry Fee

Entry Fee: $50 entry fee with a credit card (non-refundable)

The entry fee covers the following:

Practice Rounds: July 31 – August 1


Championship Rounds 

Contestant Dining:
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost for all contestants. Contestants will need to present their credentials upon entry. Contestant dining is open to players and college coaches only Sunday-Friday.

Competition Format

72-Hole Stroke Play

Eligibility

The Junior PGA Championships is open to males and females who are no older than 18 years of age on August 5, 2022

Cuts

First Cut: Made after 36 holes to top 60 plus ties

 

Second Cut: Made after 54 holes to top 30 plus ties

Course Rotation

The Junior PGA Championships will take place at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on Course #4 (Dubsdread) and Course #2 (Ravines).

Round 1:
Course #4 (Dubsdread) – Boys
Course #2 (Ravines) – Girls

Round 2:
Course #2 (Ravines) – Boys
Course #4 (Dubsdread) – Girls

Rounds 3:
Course #4 (Dubsdread) – All Players

Final Round:
Course #4 (Dubsdread) – All Players    

Field

Field Size:  The field will consist of 156 players for each championship.

Divisions:
Boys 18 & Under, Girls 18 & Under

Caddies & Push Carts

The Junior PGA Championships are a “Walking Only” championship. Caddies are not permitted. Contestants must carry their own clubs. However, the use of a non-motorized push cart is allowed. Cog Hill Golf & Country Club has limited push carts available to rent on a first come, first serve basis.

Contestants are reminded that during the championship rounds, they are not allowed to accept rides on any vehicles, unless specifically directed by a member of the PGA of America Rules Committee. There is a 2-stroke penalty for a ride on any unauthorized vehicle.

*Caddies are allowed ONLY during practice rounds.
