September 2018, the U.S. team won for the sixth consecutive time at Disneyland Paris in France with 12.5 points to Team Europe’s 11.5. The Junior Ryder Cup, an international showcase of golf’s next generation, is designed to continue to build international friendships between the top junior golfers in the United States and Europe. The overall Junior Ryder Cup match results stand at 7-3-1, in favor of the United States.

The inaugural Junior Ryder Cup was held in 1997 and played in Sotogrande, Spain, where the United States won 7-5. The format for the first five meetings included two matches over two days. Teams played Four-Ball matches on day one and mixed Four-Ball matches on day two. In 2008, the format changed to include two matches on day one that included four-ball and mixed four-ball and the addition of single matches to day two.

Junior Ryder Cup teams participate in a friendship match the Wednesday of the Ryder Cup on the Ryder Cup course. Teams are also involved in the Opening Ceremonies of the Ryder Cup.
